Hiking In Japan Mountains
On the next day when the weatherman declared the rainy season to end,
I headed for the mountain area called "Alps in Jpan" by trains
and buses, carrying my backpack. Original my hiking plan was four nights
trip, yet I spent six nights in the mountains without taking bath whole
days. When I hiked the ridged coverd snow, I filled with a muxture of
expectation and anxiety that I might se the splendid scenery of mountains
over the next ridge and I might encounter the lightning casued by changable
mountain weather. Having fears, I had hiked mor than ten hours on a day.
I felt somthing spirtual beauty in the mountains as I had not felt in
the mountains of the U.S. Japanese believe that gods live in the mountains.
There is a very small sacred hut to a god on the summit of each mountains.
The people I met at the camping sites advised me how to set up my tent
in case of strong window blow and donated their extra food to me. I did
not have enough food for the last two days because my original trip plan
was four days. I really appreciate the kindness of all hikers whom I met
there.
